This is my favorite youtube channel to improve my spoken English. Francesca Gordon-Smith specialized in producing British accent. Most of the videos in her website were taken when she was teaching her course students, and workshops.

Francesca has been joining youtube since 2010 and still active until this day. She has more than 100 videos so far. Her channel is not only talking about pronunciation, accents reductions and other related topics, but also about public speaking.

This website contains both Sharon and Holly’s favourite links, handouts, English pronunciation page, activities and exercises for English pronunciation and listening, tips for teachers, and listening exercises.

 

In the English pronunciation page, there are some tips to improve your spoken English such as, how to pronounce specific sounds in English, English word stress, English sentence stress and intonation, and pronunciation exercises along with the activities.

Rachelenglish is an attractive website which inside, you can learn many things to develop your spoken English. Featured by videos in each lessons, this website would be a good website for you to learn more about spoken English especially about English sounds and pronunciation.

 The founder of this website, Rachel has been working as ESL instructor since 1990. She became interested in developing a pronunciation-focused resource while living in Germany under the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program in 2008. Rachel’s initial idea in developing Rachel’s English was to make the kind of resource for self-study that she wished she could find for her own foreign language study.

Rachelenglish is also featured with sound charts and mouth position. Beside those features, rachelenglish also have online class and evaluation.

There’s also premium contents for premium user which contains more videos, trainings and tips, but don’t worry, all videos on rachelenglish.com are not part of the Premium Subscription. They will be completely free and will continue to be.

Beside the specialties that I mentioned above, Englishspeak also have a great method of teaching. Like my other website reviews, this website is also mainly talking about pronunciation and things to develop your spoken English, but it also adds another lessons such as TOEFL preparation, grammar and idioms.

Again, “don’t judge a book by the cover”
although that the appearance is not really attractive but this is a great website, and off course most of the lessons are FREE. Here, you can learn 500 common English words, vowels in American English, basic rules of American accent and others. Besides you can learn English, you can also join the online forum and share your opinions, you difficulties when learning English, etc.

Another program from this website is online classes. This program requires “Skype.”Learners will learn directly from the instructor online via Skype. Unfortunately this feature is a paid feature, but you can still snoop inside. Speakingmethod gives you 10 minutes free for the first time to know what the class looks like (you will need to pay after your quota is over.)

To make sure that you understand every lesson that you take from the website, it gives you some free test for each lesson. You can also try English evaluation from this website for $17.99

Today’s website may be a little bit different from another website. The appearance looks like a PDF or smart book rather than a website (I think XD) but, the most important one is this website is FREE for all (yay!)

Same with most of website which I had posted, this website also mainly talking about accent. This website provides a large set of speech samples from a variety of language backgrounds. Native and non-native speakers of English read the same paragraph and are carefully transcribed. The archive is used by people who wish to compare and analyze the accents of different English speakers.

The purpose of this website is, when people listen to someone speak with a different accent from their own, they notice the difference, and they may even make certain biased social judgments about the speaker.

Just want to tell you that this website is totally FREE. This website was has been active since 1990. It contains complete materials of English for ESL/EFL learners and teachers.

Now, let’s go to the main page:

The main important thing you should know is “Don’t judge a book by its cover” It may not looks soo good compared to other website. Maybe, it’s because this website is and old website, but it has really good content for something “free.”

Okay, there are so many trainings that you can get from this website, starts from grammar, vocabulary building and so on, include pronunciation training.

 In pronunciation training page, you will be taught how to pronounce words in English correctly. The website also gives some notice in order to motivate you to replenish your English. This website tries to notify you that it is not necessary to speaks like the Queen of England. As long as everyone understands what you are saying, it will be all right.
